Arjuna belongs to a combretaceae family and is a highly potential cardioprotective agent. An ayurvedic remedy for various ailments, Terminalia Arjuna is simply known among people as Arjuna. The bark of this tree is very useful in treating ulcers, fractures, diabetes, cardiotheraphy, leukorrhea, cirrhosis and anemia. The bark ashes have been recommended to use against snake bites and scorpion sting.

Few people swallow the juice as an antacid while a few other people consume the bark powder along with washed rice water so as to treat the blood in the urine. It has innumerable health benefits like healing wounds, curing headache, killing worms in teeth, alleviating earaches.

How to take Arjuna?

The herb is indicated for oral administration. For treating congestive heart failure, 500 mg of the powdered bark can be taken every eight hours each day.

In order to treat chest pain after a heart attack, take 500 mg of the powdered bark every eight hours daily. The herbal medication can be taken for up to three months or can be taken as advised by the physician. Take the drug after you get prescribed Arjuna upon consultation from the doctor.

Side effects of Arjuna

It is considered unsafe during pregnancy, therefore pregnant and breastfeeding women are instructed to refrain from using this herb. The herb can affect the blood sugar levels, therefore the existing diabetic medications will have to be adjusted accordingly.
