Pamelor is an antidepressant medication with Nortriptyline as the active and primary ingredient contained in it. The inactive ingredients are benzoic acid, alcohol, sorbitol, and purified water. The medication majorly controls the symptoms of depression. It is identified by different names across the globe.

Pamelor is approved by FDA for the prime purpose of treating depression and its allied symptoms. In fact, the drug can also be used for treating nocturnal enuresis otherwise referred to as bedwetting that is observed in children and young adults.

Apart from its primary use for treating depression, Pamelor medication can also be taken for treating neuropathic pain, and this has been confirmed through several clinical trials over a period of time.

As an off-label use, the drug can also be taken for treating irritable bowel syndrome, panic disorder, neuralgia modification, chronic pain and migraine prophylaxis.

Though not scientifically proved, Pamelor also controls the onset of ADHD symptoms in children and young adults. In the recent past, the medication is recommended for the first-line treatment of neuropathic pain. There are several other medical uses too which aren’t approved by FDA.
